Under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Hamas, the armed Palestinian resistance group, has released four Israeli female soldiers. They were freed today, Saturday, local time. In return, as per the terms of the agreement, Israel is set to release 200 Palestinian prisoners.

The four female soldiers were handed over to Israel through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). They were transferred to the Red Cross at Palestine Square in Gaza. During this time, a large number of security personnel and curious onlookers were seen gathered.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect last Sunday. The release of these four female soldiers marks the second phase of the agreement. In the first phase, Israel had released 90 Palestinian prisoners, while Hamas freed three hostages.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack on Israeli territory. This attack resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people, and 251 individuals were taken hostage and brought to Gaza. On the same day, Israeli forces began a brutal assault on the Gaza Strip. In the year-long conflict, over 47,200 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza, the majority of whom were civilians. This information was reported by the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health.
