7 sleeping people were killed with sharp weapons one by one after taking sleeping pills

In the case of the seven murders in Haijmara, Chandpur, the accused Akash Mondal (also known as Irfan) has cited his anger as the reason behind the killings. After killing the ship's master, Akash feared that others might catch him, so he planned to kill them as well. This information came to light after his arrest by the police. The details were revealed during a press briefing by RAB on Wednesday afternoon at their office in Shakhtala, Comilla, around 12 PM. Major Mohammad Sakib Hossain, Deputy Director of RAB-11, explained that Akash's anger towards the ship's master stemmed from not receiving his regular salary, benefits, and leave. This frustration led him to first poison the master's food with sleeping pills and kill him. Afterward, fearing capture, he planned to kill the remaining seven crew members of the ship and attacked them. However, one person survived.

The murders took place on a ship anchored at the mouth of the Ishanbala canal in Haijmara, Chandpur. A joint operation by RAB’s Intelligence Branch, RAB-11, and RAB-6 led to Akash's arrest last night in Chitalmari, Bagerhat. Akash is the son of Jagdish Mondal from Fakirhat, Bagerhat, and had been working on the ship for about eight months as a deckhand.
